Review of Court of the Undying Seasons by A.M.Filled with chills, New York Times bestselling author Katherine Arden’s latest installment in the creep-tastic Small Spaces Quartet is sure to haunt.Review of The Night in Question (The Agathas #2) by Kathleen Glasgow and Liz Lawson (earc).Review of Of Light and Shadow by Tanaz Bhathena (earc).Have you read this yet? Is it on your TBR? I gave this book 4 stars and will be picking up the fourth book once it’s out. I just think it needed to be a little bit longer to add to the story. It was definitely left with us knowing there will be a book four.

The book is fairly short and I don’t want to ruin the ending. The kids meet up with an axe man that they believe is a ghost and they need to avoid the monster that brought the boat down. Ollie’s dad is hurt and they don’t have food or a way off. Not everyone makes it, but the rest end up on a secret island. He’s struggling and drawing picture of scarecrows. The kids realize that Phil probably remembers what happened to them. The captain’s nephew ended up being Phil. So does Ollie’s dad, but Brian’s parents stay home. When Coco’s mom is going to write a story about a local boat tour that looks for the Lake Champlain monster, Champ, the kids agree to go with. Ollie, Brian, and Coco are reading about ghosts and worrying all the time. I’m hoping that book four will be better for me. I did like it, but it’s my least favorite of the three books. It’s hidden from the outside world in a fog and unless everyone works together to find a way to escape, they won’t survive long. But when a lake monster destroys their boat, they end up shipwrecked on a deserted island. They haven’t had the best of luck on their recent trips and even worse their frenemy Phil is on the boat as well.

So when Ollie’s dad and Coco’s mom plan a “fun” boat trip on Lake Champlain, the three are apprehensive to say the least.

By staying together and avoiding remote places, they’ve steered clear of him so far but their constant worry and stress is taking a toll on their lives and friendship. Having met and outsmarted the smiling man in Dead Voices but fearful of when he’ll come again, Ollie, Brian, and Coco are anxiously searching for a way to defeat him once and for all. New York Times bestselling author Katherine Arden returns with another creepy, spine-tingling adventure in this follow-up to the critically acclaimed Small Spaces and Dead Voices.
