I keep thinking maybe people who are overly sensitive should not read books, as they just end up whining about triggers in reviews. I personally think readers need to put their big girl panties on prior to reading a book. Some of my favorite characters I don’t have to like, to love in a story. The author under the synopsis writes a mild disclaimer, which I personally thought was unnecessary as this is her world and characters. The Guild and other characters, that I as a first time reader had no context to understand, how The Guild or how those secondary Fae, Vampire and Demon characters fit into Hutchins’ world. I was able to understand Playing with Monsters but things are mentioned in this book i.e. In saying this I am going to go and start with her first of the Fae Chronicle series.
Okay I need to amend that, this is a standalone read, but I discovered it is part of a larger paranormal world that Hutchins has built.
